The Bureau of Good Roads
Fun hands-on projects that introduce big engineering ideas
Fionnuala Quinn, founder of The Bureau of Good Roads, designs and facilitates community classes, events, and workshops to explain how our streets and transportation work. Her goal is to engage and teach through fun, fresh and unexpected approaches. The programs she designs are customized to address local needs, and can be developed for children or adults – they believe everyone should have access to the conversation about designing safe and comfortable ways to travel.
Being a supporter of smart growth and safe, non-motorized transportation options, like biking, it has been a dream job to work with Fionnuala to create designs that help her do her amazing work. If my work can be useful in educational programs, well, that’s pretty awesome. I am constantly inspired by Fionnuala and her good works.
Note: In a pinch, she prepared and delivered a classroom lesson kit (see photo below) for me that had everything I needed to provide 18 elementary aged children with a complete streets project that they absolutely loved! If you would like more information on the kits, contact Fionnuala at The Bureau of Good Roads!
